Morton’s neuroma
Burning, sharp or numb sensations in the ball of the foot, often between the third and fourth toes.

Tarsal tunnel syndrome
Pressure on the tibial nerve at the inner ankle, causing burning, tingling or numbness in the sole.

Baxter’s nerve entrapment
Irritation of a small nerve near the heel that can cause heel pain resembling plantar fasciitis.

Our approach
Diagnosis first. Surgery only when it makes sense for you.
Many nerve problems in the foot improve without surgery. Our aim is to understand exactly what is causing your symptoms, try the most appropriate non-surgical options first, and discuss surgery only when the expected benefit outweighs the risks.
Step 1: Listen and examine
A detailed history and a hands-on examination of sensation, strength, circulation, skin, gait and footwear.
Step 2: Clarify the diagnosis
Imaging or nerve studies only when they will change the plan — coordinated with other specialists when needed.
Step 3: Non-surgical care first
When appropriate: footwear, padding, orthotics, activity changes, therapy, and medication managed with your other clinicians.
Step 4: Surgery, selectively
Discussed only when symptoms persist, the diagnosis is well supported, and the expected benefit outweighs the risks for you.
Step 5: Recovery and follow-up
Realistic timelines, rehabilitation guidance and follow-up visits. Nerves recover slowly, and results vary.

- Burning, tingling, numbness or electric-shock pain in the foot, ankle or lower leg that has lasted more than a few weeks
- Pain in the ball of the foot between the toes, especially in closed shoes
- Heel pain that hasn’t improved with the usual treatment for plantar fasciitis
- Nerve-type pain that began after an injury or an operation
- Diabetes or neuropathy, and a need for a thorough foot examination and protective care
- A second opinion before, or after, nerve-related foot surgery
